Our Mission

“REchurch at Running Creek aspires to be a Christ-centered community where lives are rooted in God’s Word, healed through the power of His presence, and shaped by authentic relationships, and marked by joyful generosity.  We celebrate families, develop disciples, and deploy purpose-driven believers into the world with wisdom, grace, and bold faith.  Through intentional growth and contagious love, we will reflect the character of Christ and invite others into His healing”.

Situated in Elizabeth, Colorado, we aim to foster spiritual growth and community connection through various church activities.

Our Beliefs

We affirm the following fundamental doctrines of the Christian faith:

1. The Holy Scriptures

We believe the Holy Scriptures of the Old and New Testaments to be the verbally inspired Word of God. They are the final authority for faith and life, inerrant in the original writings, infallible, and God-breathed.
(Second Timothy 3:16–17; Second Peter 1:20–21; Matthew 5:18)

2. God

We believe in one Triune God—Father, Son, and Holy Spirit—eternally existing in three persons. God is spirit, eternal, unchanging, all-powerful, all-knowing, ever-present, and always loving. He is the creator and sustainer of all things and remains active in His creation today.
(Deuteronomy 6:4; Second Corinthians 13:14; John 4:24; Luke 24:39; Psalm 90:2; James 1:17; Isaiah 44:24; Revelation 19:6; First John 3:20; Psalm 147:5; Psalm 139:7–10)

3. The Person and Work of Christ

We believe that the Lord Jesus Christ, the eternal Son of God, became man without ceasing to be God. He was conceived by the Holy Spirit, born of the Virgin Mary, and came to reveal God and redeem sinful humanity. He accomplished redemption through His death on the cross as a representative, substitutionary sacrifice. Our justification is confirmed by His literal, physical resurrection from the dead. He ascended to heaven, where He is exalted at the right hand of the Father and now serves as our High Priest, Intercessor, and Advocate.
(John 1:1–2, 12, 14; Luke 1:35; Romans 3:24–25; First Peter 2:24; Ephesians 1:7; First Peter 1:3–5; Acts 1:9; Hebrews 7:25, 9:24; Romans 8:34; First John 2:1–2)

4. The Person and Work of the Holy Spirit

We believe that the Holy Spirit is a person who convicts the world of sin, righteousness, and judgment. He is the supernatural agent in regeneration, baptizing all believers into the body of Christ, indwelling and sealing them until the day of redemption. The Holy Spirit is the divine teacher who guides believers into all truth, and it is the privilege and duty of all believers to live under His control. He gives spiritual gifts to each believer for the building up of the church.
(John 16:8–11, 13; Second Corinthians 3:6; First Corinthians 12:13; Romans 8:9; Ephesians 1:13–14, 5:18; First John 2:20, 27; First Peter 4:10)

5. The Depravity of Man

We believe that man was created in the image and likeness of God. However, due to Adam’s sin, humanity fell and inherited a sinful nature. All people are alienated from God and unable to remedy their lost condition apart from divine grace.
(Genesis 1:26–27; Romans 3:22–23, 5:12; Ephesians 2:1–3, 12)

6. Salvation

We believe that salvation is the free gift of God, granted by grace and received through personal faith in the Lord Jesus Christ. His death on the cross provided the forgiveness of sins through the shedding of His blood.
(Ephesians 2:8–10; John 1:12; Ephesians 1:7; First Peter 1:18–19)

7. The Eternal State

We believe in the bodily resurrection of all people. Believers are raised to eternal life, while unbelievers face judgment and everlasting punishment.
(Matthew 25:46; John 5:28–29, 11:25–26; Revelation 20:5–6, 12–13)

8. Sanctification

We believe sanctification is a vital aspect of the believer’s relationship with God and impacts daily living and service. God’s role in sanctification is to set apart the believer for His glory. The believer’s role involves pursuing holiness through confession, restitution, Scripture study, prayer, fellowship, and witness. While believers are not sinless in this life, they grow in holiness as they yield to the Holy Spirit.
(First Thessalonians 4:3–7, 5:23; Second Thessalonians 2:13–14; First Corinthians 7:1; Hebrews 12:10–15; Romans 6:11–22; First John 1:9–2:2)

9. The Eternal Security and Assurance of Believers

We believe that all who are truly redeemed are kept by God’s power and are secure in Christ forever. Believers are free to rejoice in their salvation, but this freedom is not a license to sin.
(John 6:37–40, 10:27–30; Romans 8:1, 38–39; First Corinthians 1:4–8; First Peter 1:5; Romans 13:13–14; Galatians 5:13; Titus 2:11–15)

10. The Church

We believe the church is the body and bride of Christ, a spiritual organism made up of all who have been born again. The New Testament clearly teaches the establishment and ongoing role of local churches.
(Ephesians 1:22–23, 5:25–27; First Corinthians 12:12–14; Second Corinthians 11:2; Acts 14:27, 20:17, 28–32; First Timothy 3:1–13; Titus 1:5–11)

11. Ordinances

We believe that Jesus instituted two ordinances for the church: water baptism and the Lord’s Supper. These are to be practiced in obedience but are not means of salvation.

  • Baptism is by immersion and symbolizes the believer’s faith and identification with Christ.

  • The Lord’s Supper is a memorial of Christ’s death and a reminder of His promised return.
    (Matthew 28:19; Acts 2:41, 8:35–38; Mark 16:16; Luke 22:19–20; First Corinthians 11:23–28)

12. The Second Coming of Christ

We believe in the personal, premillennial, and imminent return of the Lord Jesus Christ. This “Blessed Hope” profoundly influences the life and service of every believer.
(First Thessalonians 4:13–18)

13. Satan

We believe that Satan is a real being who was originally created as the angel Lucifer. He rebelled against God and now actively works to oppose God’s purposes. He is described in Scripture under many names and is the adversary of every believer.
(Ezekiel 28:11–19; John 14:30, 16:11; Isaiah 14:12–17; Psalm 91:3; Matthew 4:3; First Peter 5:8; Revelation 20:2)

14. Marriage and Sexuality

We believe that marriage is the exclusive legal union of one genetic male and one genetic female, affirmed by a marriage ceremony.

  • This ministry does not perform or recognize same-sex marriages, civil unions, or domestic partnerships, regardless of legal status.

  • Biblical sexual expression is confined to marriage.

  • Sexual activities such as adultery, fornication, homosexuality, transgenderism, and related behaviors are inconsistent with Scripture.

  • Practices such as pornography, cross-dressing, gender alteration, and lascivious conduct are incompatible with a biblical witness.
    (Genesis 2:24; Matthew 19:4–6; John 4:16–18; Romans 1:18–32; First Corinthians 5:11, 6:9–11, 6:18–20, 7:1–3, 7:8–9; Galatians 5:19–21; Ephesians 5:3–7; First Timothy 1:9–11)
